She was born in Kingston, Jamaica, but grew up in Manchester with her great-grandmother who died when she was 12 years old. She lived with her paternal grandmother in Pembroke Pines for a while and attended Cooper City High, she later transferred to Miramar High where she graduated and was voted most talented at her senior prom by her peers due to her singing talents. By now, she has grown accustomed to moving and decided to join the military to further her education, professional skills, and travel opportunities. After high school, Maxine joined the Air Force. After serving 11 years, she transferred to the Army to become an officer. Her overseas assignments include Afghanistan, Qatar and Haiti shortly after the earthquake in 2010. She has had a fulfilling military career in various roles as a commander, basic officer leader Instructor, budget, and financial management officer, with several additional duties under her belt like casualty officer, investigating officer, and more. She obtained several degrees and various self-development certifications. Unfortunately, her active duty military career was cut short due to illnesses and Maxine was awarded a medical retirement with an honorable discharge and is now pursuing doctoral studies and a career in the media & entertainment field. Although she loves singing, she loves storytelling and is often requested to speak on the positive effects of authenticity, nurturing relationships, and embracing every role and being excellent in all of them. Her work with women of the military and underprivileged youth is notable.
