Dr. Julie Tran-Olive, ND, L.Ac, is a renowned naturopathic doctor, author, and researcher dedicated to a holistic approach to healing. Born and raised in San Jose, CA, Dr. Tran-Olive developed a passion for the field of psychology early on. She pursued her undergraduate studies at The University of Redlands in CA, earning a BA in Psychology. During her time as an undergraduate, Dr. Tran-Olive interned at the Loma Linda Behavioral Medical Center, where she served as a Behavioral Health Specialist. It was during this experience that she realized the importance of holistic healing and the need to explore alternative avenues for well-being. Inspired by the idea that healing involves more than just altering brain chemistry, Dr. Tran-Olive decided to embark on a career in naturopathic medicine. She believed that addressing the whole person—body, mind, and spirit—was essential for true healing. Driven by this philosophy, she traveled to Bridgeport, Connecticut, to pursue her doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and two master’s degrees—one in Human Nutrition and the other in Acupuncture—from the University of Bridgeport. Deepening her commitment to the concept of food as medicine, Dr. Tran-Olive trained under the guidance of Dr. Peter D'Adamo, ND, the author of the New York Times Bestseller, "Eat Right for Your Type" (The Blood Type Diet), at the prestigious D'Adamo Clinic. I know and understand what it’s like to be overlooked, underrated, and underestimated. I know what it’s like to be a statistic and to be given up on and discarded. I understand the journey of deep emotional pain, disappointments and feeling like you’re alone and wanting to give up on yourself. I didn’t have a positive female role model growing up, which affected my decision making in my teens. I was emotionally broken and filled with anger. I know what it’s like to be homeless and having to start my life all over again. Throughout my life it has been my experiences that have taught me my lessons. Life was and still is my classroom. I used to ask, “why did I go through the things that I did”? But I later realized that it was the hardships, the difficulties, the hurt, and pain that I drew my strength and self-empowerment from, and that nothing that I had gone through in my life was only for me. The thing that has shown me struggles, Is the very thing that has empowered me. The thing that broke me, is the very thing that built me. The thing that tried to take my voice, is the very thing that gave me my voice. The thing that made me feel like I had no purpose, is the very thing that led me to this purpose. That thing is LIFE. Life has Empowered me, to Empower others. This is MY LIFE EMPOWERMENT Story… I grew up in a dysfunctional and abusive home. I was sexually abused, became a teenage mother at the age of sixteen, was put out by my mother, dropped out of High School in the tenth grade, and was homeless between the ages of 16 to 20 years old with my daughter. I felt alone, depressed, abandoned, rejected, ashamed and scared. The church wasn’t there and had abandoned me. Society had already deemed me as a statistic and had given up on me. I was told by family and friends that my life was over. I was expected to fail. I needed help and support, but the system made it very difficult and discouraging for me. I couldn’t receive public assistance because I was either too young, didn’t have a permanent address, or had no parent or guardian that would stand with me. The shelters were either unsafe or full. I slept where I could sometimes on beds, floors, or couches, while most of the time wondering where my daughter and I would wound up the next day. This went on for four years, until my situation forced me to move back home. I didn’t realize it at the time, but this was the start of my New Beginning’s! This journey left a lifetime impact on me. I never thought my experience would have influenced me in starting New Beginning’s Outreach Program for Women and New Beginnings Life Empowerment, LLC and using them as a platform to tell my story to the world! New Beginnings Outreach Program for Women, Inc. is a 501c (3) non-profit organization that was founded in 2013 in Brooklyn, New York. She approaches her coaching with unwavering non-judgmental support, creating a safe and nurturing space for personal growth. While teaching the power of a strong mindset she encourages taking actions in the face of uncertainty and focusing on progress over perfection. “I firmly believe that no matter how unhealthy or counterproductive a situation may seem, it is within our power to transform it. Even in the context of your busy life, progress is always possible.” Amanda’s coach programs are designed to sustain your focus, adhere to a plan, and discover the means to manifest the results you desire. You learn that action can precede a shift in mindset. The way we think and the way we act are equally significant in our success.
