Dr. Sheila R. Trapp is humbled by the many blessings in her life, including being a mother, wife, daughter, sister, and her favorite designation as a grandmother. She contends that her grandchildren have changed her life and made her better at living. Dr. Trapp has many years of experience in senior-level nonprofit leadership roles. She is interested in leadership on all levels, issues of equity, and coaching and developing the next generations of leaders. Her passion is found in bringing out the best in others. Dr. Trapp has fundamental skills in understanding what it takes to have equity, inclusion, and belonging, building organizational capacity, and developing the next generations of leaders. She has served in numerous roles developing community programs and building strong teams and has a legacy of coaching others in achieving senior-level management and leadership roles. Dr. Trapp is an advocate for future leaders and serves as a Leadership Coach at Rutgers University. Dr. Trapp is a native of New Jersey and the owner of S. She has a Doctorate of Management degree in Organizational Leadership and Master’s degrees in Organizational Management and Theological Studies. Tonya L. Whiteside, Vision Catalyst for The Whiteside Group, is a wife, mother, military veteran, educator, and credentialed high school counselor. She holds master’s degrees in both education and human services, and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. Tonya is the author of: “Change The Atmosphere with Encouraging Words”, “Rebuilding Life after Trauma”, "I Am More Than My Hair" coloring book, and the newly released “Focus: A 31-Day Journal”. Tonya is dedicated to women who are rebuilding life after experiencing trauma. She shares her experience as a military veteran, victim, and survivor, through keynote speaking and creating customized workshops.
I am the Founder and Executive Director of LEC Community Organization. I have a background in community development, Social work. I studied Women Studies and Women in Leadership at Aga Khan University and currently pursuing my bachelor Degree in Gender and Development Studies at the University of Nairobi (Kenya) I believe in society where women and children are empowered for access to equal opportunities in the society. As a result, LEC COMMUNITY ORGANIZATON focuses on projects that enhances women’s and girls spaces in the community. Through my leadership at LEC as the Executive Director, we have implemented the following projects; Women economic empowerment project that target equal vulnerable women from the slum of Mathare and rural area of Busia with life skills including business skills that enhances their economic capacities to be able to meet their needs and those of their children. Elimination of sexual Exploitation of children project, which focuses on preventing children from sexual abuse by empowering them with preventive messages and awareness raising. The project also responds to victims of sexual exploitation, provision of psychosocial support such as counseling, legal aid and supporting them go back to school to continue with education, Education sponsorship programmes for girls that has enhanced vulnerable girls from the slums of Mathare and the rural area of Busia with educational opportunities to enable them achieve their career dreams.
