Biography

A native of Mobile, Alabama, Dr. Erica Jones Sheffield is the CEO of Anchored 2 Teach, LLC, a consulting business based out of Tuscaloosa, AL. She also launched DrEricaSpeaks.com as a motivational speaking entity. She is very passionate, energetic, and authentic with her approaches. She is a TRANSFORMATIONAL KEYNOTE SPEAKER, EDUCATIONAL CONSULTANT, and MENTORING COACH ready to impact others around the world! Dr. Sheffield has worked for the University of West Alabama in the College of Education for almost two decades. Prior to being employed with UWA, she worked with Mobile County Schools for a decade. During Dr. Sheffield’s tenure, she assumed the roles as Local Agency Representative, Special Education Department Chair, and Resource and Inclusion Teacher. For close to a decade, she was a Professional Learning Consultant for PowerSchool. Sheffield worked in counties throughout the State of Alabama, providing workshops on research-based teaching practices and district level supports. Dr. Sheffield earned a Bachelors in Psychology from The University of South Alabama 1995, Masters in Special Education from Alabama State University (2000), and a Doctorate in Educational or Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University 2006. She is a published educational author. Dr. Sheffield is married with 4 children and three grandchildren
